What is Plastisol Coating? Advantages and Applications

What is Plastisol Coating?
Plastisol is a liquid coating material consisting of a mixture of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) resin and plasticizers. Metal parts are coated by dipping or spraying into this liquid, then gelled in an oven at 160-200°C.
Advantages of Plastisol Coating
Corrosion Resistance
Plastisol coating completely isolates the metal surface, providing superior protection against moisture, salt, and chemicals. It lasts for many years even in outdoor conditions.
Aesthetic Appearance
It gives your products a premium look with a wide color range and matte/glossy surface options.
Soft Touch
Plastisol coating provides comfort at grip points and protects against scratches.
Electrical Insulation
Provides safety by preventing electrical conductivity.
Application Areas
- Park and Garden Equipment: Swing chains, climbing apparatus
- Sports Equipment: Dumbbell handles, weight bars
- Industrial Equipment: Cable trays, hanging systems
- Kitchen Utensils: Dishwasher baskets, shelf systems
- Automotive: Cable clips, protective caps
Plastisol vs Powder Coating
Plastisol coating provides thicker coating (0.5-3mm) than powder coating and impact resistance is much higher. However, powder coating is more economical and preferred where thin coating is needed.
